Bioethics and Formation   versione testuale
A Master program promoted by the Institute of Bioethics of the Rome’s Catholic University of “Sacro Cuore” and Pontifical Institute John Paul II is beginning

This Master's in Bioethics and Formation is an initiative of the Pontifical Institute for the Family in collaboration with the Institute of Bioethics and the Faculty of Medicine of Rome’s Catholic University of "Sacro Cuore."

The promoters explain that the academic inspiration is rooted in St. John Paul II's Encyclical "Evangelium Vitae", which "spoke of the urgency of a great strategy in favor of human life, of a great cultural change, that would promote a culture of life. In front of the enormous positive possibilities of science in favor of life, but also the threats to life from science, this is an attempt to permeate all cultures and give them life from within. This includes the medical, juridical, philosophical, and pedagogical cultures, so that they may express the full truth concerning the human being and his or her life."
The master's objective is "to provide a rigorous academic and interdisciplinary formation, inserting the most hotly debated questions in a context of the most fundamental anthropological, ethical, and dogmatic concepts, with the focus especially on the family, while providing the proper tools—they concluded—for a bioethical approach in different contexts of formation and consultation."
