In the context of the Year of the Family which is being celebrated in Paraguay, the Bishops’ Conference of this South American country has promoted the communal celebration of marriages for those couples who lived together in a de facto union. 2700 marriages were celebrated in the course of the year. A most striking event was the celebration of 35 weddings in the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Asunción, sponsored by a company that, in association with the Church’s project, promoted this celebration among its employees.
