A Meeting on the Gift of Love
On May 6th, a meeting for "Communicating the Family": the "Pauline Communications and Culture Award 2015" will be presented to the Corbella Petrillo Family

The family is an "an environment in which we learn to communicate in an experience of closeness, a setting where communication takes place, a communicating community." This passage from Pope Francis’ Message for XLIX World Communications Day is the source of inspiration of the meeting organized for Wednesday, May 6th (6:00 pm), in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Montesanto, in Rome. The event, dedicated to the theme "Communicating the Family: A Privileged Place of Encounter with the Gift of Love", is sponsored by the Office for Social Communications of the Diocese of Rome, the Pauline non-profit organization Communication and culture, and the Pontifical Lateran University, with collaboration of Lazio’s Family Forum. The reflection, which will be introduced by the spokesman for the diocese of Rome, Fr. Walter Insero, will be marked by interventions of Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, and of the spouses Mauro Magatti and Chiara Giaccardi, both sociologists at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. A testimony by Emma Ciccarelli, President of Lazio’s Family Forum is also on the agenda.
"We have conceived this initiative—explains Fr. Insert—as an opportunity for testimony. Reflecting on and telling about the family, as well as the communicative actions that characterize it, means realizing (as Pope Francis wrote in his message) that our lives are bound together as a single reality, that our voices are many, and that each is unique." On this occasion, the Superior General, Sister Anna Maria Parenzan, will give the "Pauline Communications and Culture Award" to the Corbella Petrillo family.
