The Art of Being Parents
An international federation has dedicated over 30 years to teaching families the path to healthy parenting

Parents educating other parents so that they may fulfill their family vocation: this is the program of the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD), an independent, non-governmental and non- profit organization, created in Spain, that has been working, since 1978, to promote correct education of children in the family. In fact, for the IFFD, wanting to be a good parent is not enough, but with humility and patience, we must learn to become good parents.

The IFFD accomplishes its mission through its active presence on all five continents, in over 65 countries worldwide and proposes to both parents its program of courses, based on the "case method": an approach to promote real dialogue situations where personal ideas and experiences, together with respect for those of others, enrich fruitful mutual exchange.
The moderating parents are not really "teachers" but rather experienced parents who guide the discussions that take place in small groups of participants. The courses are organized in order to bring together parents with children of the same age, so that they can learn the right skills, which correspond to each phase of their children’s development.
Alongside the courses, the IFFD also organizes regional and international meetings, essential for strengthening the federation’s sense of identity and for exchanging special knowledge and practices. Linked to the world of academia and research, the "think tank” of Family Watch International, founded by the IFFD, is committed to finding solutions to the problems that the family faces today.
