Room for All the Voices   versione testuale
Bishop Liam MacDaid encouages the Church of Ireland to respond to the questionnaire on the family

"Giving room to all the voices, even to those who can be considered far from the faith," being "frank and honest" on the path to the General Synod ordinary family. This is the exhortation addressed to the faithful by the Irish Bishops and in particular by Msgr. Liam MacDaid, President of the Bishops’ Council for marriage and the family. After the publication of the Synod‘s "Lineamenta," the answers to the questionnaire should be sent to the General Secretariat of the Synod by April 15th for the drafting of the "Instrumentum laboris." The deadline set by the Irish Church for their delivery at the local level is March 6th.

"The quality of our lives and our relationships–explains Msgr. MacDaid–are closely linked to the kind of family life we are able to create," because "family life is a blessing for all." With respect to the questions of the questionnaire, the Irish Bishop says, that it has to be asked "how, for better or worse, the local Church supports and cares the pastoral ministry to married couples and families." This is "an examination that should strengthen and renew pastoral ministry in such a way that helps everyone to understand that life is good."
