The Pontifical Gregorian University is launching a new course entirely devoted to society's fundamental cell

On October 23rd, coinciding with the Synod on the family, the Pontifical Gregorian University will inaugurate the "Diploma in Practical Theology with the specialization in Family Ministry." This is a new course of formation (25 places are available) designed for pastoral workers and professionals in the field of marriage and the family, who want to concretely respond to Pope Francis' call to confront the issues related to the family cell.

The one-year formation intends to offer in particular an approach to the family attentive to the theological, spiritual, anthropological, and sociological dimensions as well as to family therapy. The course will be taught by scholars, who will present considerations on the familial reality in concrete situations, with the intention of providing tools for conducting interdisciplinary reflection based on the experience of those who live the reality of the family as believers. The courses offered will include: sociology of the family; ethics of the conjugal relationship; empowerment of women and family relations; conjugal spirituality; psychodynamics of family ties; the body, sexuality and family therapy; the sacraments of initiation and marriage; pastoral dialogue and reconciliation; fundamental sexual morality; interpersonal communication; and personal morality and the family.
