Pope Francis' Catechism 3. Dad   versione testuale
Dad

We all have a dad. Sometimes he scolds us, controls us or seems to be too strict with us, but then we really miss him and, when he is unfortunately absent, the lives of children just do not go well.

A dad—said Pope Francis—passes on to us a wise heart, and that is what really matters in life. His presence transmits at the same time closeness, gentleness and firmness. Like the famous father in the Gospel, he waits patiently for the return of the growing child who runs away from home and forgives with a big heart.
That is why we must honor our father.

When Jesus wanted to tell us how he thought of God and spoke to Him, he chose the word "Abba, Father" and taught us the Our Father. Why not also follow Pope Francis' suggestion of and try asking your dad to explain this prayer to you?

This is the first need: the father must be present in the family

He must be close to the children as they grow: when they play and work, when they are carefree and
when they are distressed, when they express themselves and when they are silent, when they are daring and
when they are afraid, when they make a wrong step and when they find their way.
