Bishop Farrell celebrates a Mass of farewell to Dallas and leaves for Rome
"If we love God, we have to teach love and mercy toward others. This is fundamental to being Christian, and I hope it is the legacy that I leave." With these words, Bishop Kevin Farrell said goodbye to the diocese of Dallas where he has been Bishop until now, before leaving for Rome to assume the new post of Prefect of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, the Family and Life.
"In my life I have been in many places that I cannot remember. But this is one of those places that it will be hard to leave," he said during the press conference that preceded the Mass in the presence of a large assembly in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral.
