For the defense of marriage between a man and a woman, the Colombian Bishops have written to the members of Congress, who in these days are voting on the draft of law on “egalitarian marriage“ (the recognition of marriage between persons of the same sex). The legislative process requires that any bill approved by the Senate must subsequently be passed in the House of Representatives and, finally, promulgated as a Law by the President of the Republic. The Bishops’ Conference has expressed itself by sending a letter of concern to parliamentarians to make them aware of the serious consequences of such a choice.
