Brotherhood is the Gateway to the Future   versione testuale
Pope Francis on a pastoral visit to the "Centro Astalli" of the Jesuit Service for Refugees

«Rome! after Lampedusa and other places where refugees arrive, is often the second stop for many people. Their trip is often difficult and exhausting and even violent, – I’m thinking above all about the women, the mothers, who endure these hardships in order to ensure a future for their children and hope for a different life for themselves and their families». These are the words pronounced by Pope Francis during his pastoral visit to the Jesuits’ “Centero Astalli” for the reception of refugees, on Tuesday, September 10th. The Pope invited all the workers, the volunteers and the people who take care of the kindergarten and assist the refugees and immigrants: «Always keep hope alive! Help to restore confidence! Show that with acceptance and brotherhood it’s possible to open a window on the future, and more than a window, a door, and even more, people can have a future».” “Serve”, “accompany” and “defend” are the three key words of the work program of the Jesuit Service for Refugees. «The Lord calls us to open the empty convents generously and courageously to refugees», the Pontiff said.
