The Churches in the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) have signed a “Memorandum for the Family,” published on November 26th, to «strongly attest that life, sexuality, marriage and the family are core values of the human community», as they prepare to celebrate of the Year of the Family in 2014. In the document, everyone is invited to «have the courage to create a culture of life and protect the natural values of the family».
«We must unite our forces as we face the challenges that Christian families are encountering: little attention from the political sphere, the economic crisis that is also influencing the population decline, the gender theories», the Secretary-General of the Lithuanian Bishops’ Conference, Father Darius Trijonis, said to the SIR Press Agency.
