A Challenge for Senegal   versione testuale
The General Assembly of the Senegalese Clergy will be held from September 15th to 19th, in Poponguine. At the center: the commitment to family.

"The Senegalese Priest Faces the New Challenges of the Family" is the theme of the 38th General Assembly of the Senegalese Clergy, which will be hosted in Poponguine, in the Archdiocese of Dakar, from 15 to 19 September. At this event, where nearly two hundred priests will take part, delegations from different dioceses of Senegal will be represented.

"We will live an exceptional pilgrimage, that of the country’s priestly family at the foot of the Virgin Mary," said Father Simon Niakh, president of UCS Dakar, who invited the families to be open to the grace of God: "God is family. If He reigns in families, He can only bring them peace, harmony and solidarity."
Addressing the many challenges that the families are coping with today, Father Simon said that "the reasons for concern about the challenges that beset the family cannot prevail over those that are a source of hope," because—he concluded, quoting the words of Pope John Paul II in his Apostolic Exhortation 'Familiaris Consortio'—the future of humanity passes through the family."
