Twenty Years in the Service of Life   versione testuale
Lumsa University is organizing, for Thursday October 29th, a seminar dedicated to Evangelium Vitae and its still very pertinent strike force

Msgr. Ignacio Carrasco de Paula, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, will open the seminar entitled "Encyclical Evangelium Vitae 20 Years Later," which will be held in Rome, in Lumsa University's Aula Magna, on the afternoon of October 29th.

Provoked by what John Paul II wrote in his famous Encyclical on life—in which he invited Catholic intellectuals, of all fields, to drink the lifeblood of the Gospel in order to promote a new culture of life through serious contributions and documents–, some scholars have indeed decided to participate in this important meeting, which intends to revive the hope contained in the text of the Polish Saint and Pope.
After Msgr. Carrasco Paula's opening lecture ("Evangelium Vitae: Genesis and Meaning of the Encyclical"), already mentioned above, lectures will be given by Professor Maurizio Pietro Faggioni, of the Alphonsian Academy ("Open Challenges to the Moral of Life 20 Years after Evangelium Vitae"); Professor Angel Rodriguez Luno, of the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Holy Cross University ("The Relationship between Moral Law and Civil Law"); Professor Francesco D'Agostino, of the Faculty of Law of Tor Vergata University ("Democracy and the Common Good"); and Professor Theodora Rossi, of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas ("From Evangelium Vitae to Laudato Si’: Research Perspectives").
To participate, just send an email to pav@pav.va.
